WHY HYPED?

It’s how I tend to feel before a ride, and it’s definitely how I feel after. As a fellow mountain biker, you’ll be familiar with the sensation too. Energised, exhilarated, riding the crest of a natural high, imbued with mental clarity and a fresh perspective. When it came to choosing a name for this new venture, Hyped was the perfect choice.

I’ve been a graphic designer for over 20 years and an obsessed mountain biker for almost as long — just ask my long-suffering wife! I’ve had plenty of experience designing for other bike brands, but Hyped is me, doing things my way. An opportunity to combine my professional skillset with my personal passion, it’s already becoming more than just a side hustle.

The product of many years’ thoughts and dreams, the plan for Hyped finally came together during our first lockdown in the UK in 2020. This venture has started small, but there are already big plans ahead!

Hyped is my
take on MTB lifestyle, attitude and humour

Hyped is my take on MTB lifestyle, attitude and humour. It is the distillation of my own aesthetic vision combined with a focus on functionality and quality. The long-term vision is to be more than a lifestyle brand, and to offer technical products as well. If you like what you’ve seen so far, follow me — or better yet make a purchase and help Hyped to grow!

Hyped is currently a small operation, and at present everything is printed to order. This reduces upfront costs and wastage, but it does mean slightly longer fulfilment times — and reduced profits! Although another bonus to this way of doing things is that gives me the freedom to experiment with designs and really understand what excites my fellow mountain bikers.

Given time, Hyped will grow into a traditional business venture, providing customers with the best standards of quality possible. So if you’re in the market for well-designed and responsibly-sourced MTB products that look rad, stick around for the ride!

Cheers,
